Dr Paul G Fourie
MBBS DRCOG MRCGP / Qualified 1993 Newcastle Upon Tyne
Dr Fourie has been at Witton Medical Centre since September 1999. He was born in London, lived in South Africa for 9 years and qualified in Medicine at Newcastle university in 1993.
He has three grown-up children and many interests including amateur dramatics and football. He appeared on stage with his children in Annie in May 2008 and Fiddler on the Roof in September 2008, however due to time constraints his acting career is currently on hold.
Dr Fourie had 9 years as captain of the British Medical Football Team, having led them to victory in South Korea in 2009 and two runners-up finishes since. He now plays for the 7-a-side GB Masters Team, details on British Medical Football Team
He ran the London Marathon in April 2014 and the Loch Ness Marathon in September 2017. With the help of the patients and staff over £6000 was raised for Pancreatic Cancer and East Lancs Hospice.
He has now started to do Vasectomies at Witton.
Dr Adil Ahmed
MBBS MRCGP / Qualified 1998 India
Dr Ahmed qualified from India. He has been at Witton Medical Centre since January 2014. He has one daughter and his wife is a qualified paediatrician.
He has worked in various medical specialities including A&E and Oncology. He is the Diabetic Lead for the practice. He is also a GP Undergraduate Tutor. His interests include managing Chronic Dieseases, Mental Health and Paediatrics. He likes managing patients with Medical Complexities. His other interests include performing joint injections and cryotherapy.
When not at work he likes playing/watching cricket and tennis and sometimes tries his hands at cooking.
Dr Reza Hossain
MBBS, DRCOG, DCH, MRCGP, DipClinDerm, DFFP / Qualified 1999 Newcastle University
Dr Reza Hossain has been at Witton Medical Centre since 2019. He grew up in Blackburn and qualified in medicine at Newcastle University in 1999.
He has a special interest in skin problems and he works in the local community skin clinics as well.
His interests include ancient history, and natural history, cycling and dancing.
He is also particularly interested in environmental issues, and worked, as the ship medic, on the Greenpeace ship. He campaigns about climate change. He also campaigns about womens’ global access to contraception as it relates to world population growth.
